Happy Earth Day, again...

'Go Green!'

What have we learned, if anything? Are things any better for our planet and inevitably us who live on it?! Saw a documentary about this topic called 'Earth Days' on PBS. We have surprisingly been celebrating Earth day now for 40 years! I didn't know this. at first it started as a grassroots hippie phenomenon with the largest demonstration in NYC whcih brought thousands of interested people in 1970. With the Republican administrations things went south fast after Carter, for our planet whcih is not surprising as republicans have had a long history of bineg disinterested in our environment.

What are your thoughts? What will you do Thursday in honor of Earth Day? Last year I taught a class at the library and I attended a Green fair in Rhinebeck. I make beer bottle cap jewelry as you know and usually do a class. I ran a class at the nursing home in New Rochelle, Ny. My mom is currently in which is why have been scarce here, sorry. She has not been doing well. Prayers Welcomed and again, "Happy Earth Day All!". :) -Ann

Green Fair

will be held April 25th and 26th to coincide with 'Earth Day'. It will be held a the Dutchess County Fair Grounds in Rhinebeck,NY. I will have a table of my 'Green ART' and hope to sell some of it there.  i also will be offering a FREE art class for the first 15 visitors of my table.  They will be able to make their own 'Green ART' out of recycled beer bottle caps! Yes you can make earrings which dangle off a regular earring back. Think GREEN! Our planet thanks you...

Is it my imagination or do many on the net have poo on the brain!? Especially Entrecarders seem to be exasperated by it! Go read what 'Slightly Sarcastic' ,or more commonly known as 'The Admaster' from Entrecaard fame, has to say on poo. Landfills are full of bags of poo in plastic nonrecyclable bags, thrown there by good-natured people trying to do the right thing or atleast follow the law. But..is it really the right thing to do at all?! No..plastic isn't the bag to choose unless it is the good kind that is recyclable and that costs money..hmm what is the answer? brown bag it folks! And I aint talking lunch here,lol..

Some good ideas on waste issue are expressed here but I don't agree to dump it on a compost pile as cats and dogs are carnivores dear and only organic garbage goes on the pile as it is used for fertilizer like in a compost tea bag of cheese cloth and you pour over it with water over your plants. Nice try though! Some blame the dogs for not being as tidy as cats who cover their business. Good grief! What do you do or think? join the discussion here. Leave a comment.
